Help into Employment for the Armed Forces community

Some veterans find it difficult to transfer their skills into the Civvy Street and struggle to find employment after leaving the Armed Forces.  There are several organisations available to assist them, with the help aimed specifically at the veterans, reservists and their families.  The people working in these organisations are veterans themselves and have the knowledge and understanding of the military life and could assist with interpreting and fitting the experience of working during the service into the career advice and assistance with finding jobs for the ex-servicemen and women.  Below are some of them, and the list is not exhaustive:

Walking with the Wounded – the Employment Programme helps to secure positive employment outcomes for unemployed veterans. You can self-refer online, or contact Chris Carlisle, IPS Adviser for Stafford and Shropshire directly by email  or phone 07741 569978.

Pertemps – UK-wide recruitment agency which has a dedicated armed forces support team assisting Ex Service personnel get into civilian work, and aid reservists in finding a job to fit around their reserve duties by offering both free and discounted training to assist them in finding a job. Landau – A supported employment and training charity based in Telford which provides routes to employment, access to learning, social enterprise help and support for personal growth. X-Forces - a Social Enterprise (CIC) that nurtures entrepreneurial ambition and enterprise skills specifically for the military community, including veterans, Service leavers, reserves, spouses and Forces families. The support X-Forces offer is through training, finance, coaching, knowledge exchange, ongoing mentoring and connections to 'Big Business' that is largely bespoke to the individual or business.
