Working through our established network of community partners and local events, the Spark Project reaches people directly in their communities. This approach allows us to provide high‑quality information, practical support, and trusted advice in places that are familiar and accessible.
Improving safety and reducing energy waste
At Spark Project events, residents can access free Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). This service checks common household electrical items to ensure they are safe to use and running efficiently. By identifying faulty or inefficient appliances, PAT testing helps reduce fire risks and unnecessary energy use, supporting safer and more energy‑efficient homes.
Alongside PAT testing, residents receive technical energy advice delivered by Citizens Advice staff. This joined‑up approach ensures that people receive reliable, practical guidance that is tailored to their individual circumstances.
Support beyond energy advice
The Spark Project goes beyond technical advice by connecting residents with wider Citizens Advice support. People using the service can access help to maximise their income, including benefits checks, support with grant applications, debt advice, and guidance on managing the cost of living.
